🤷‍♂️ What is a "Change" ?

A "Change" is a series of actions taken following an ECR/ECO (Engineering Change Request/Order) in order to:

  • Assess the impact of a modification to a product’s definition

  • Update one or more products

🆕 A specific type of Model

The Workflow model can be associated with Product Definitions

This type of model allows to:

  • Find all the Products impacted by a change

  • Provide you with all the necessary context to refine and propagate your change

  • Maintain a history of changes in product definitions

⚒️ A new tool in the Workflows : the Impact Matrix

The Impact Matrix is a new tab that can be found next to the usual tasks in a workflow linked to a Product Definition

It lists all product definitions impacted by the change and allows you to update the definitions directly from the workflow page.

👨‍💻 How to use a "Change" workflow

▶️ Initialization of the workflow and of the Impact Matrix

At the creation of the workflow:

  1. Enter the name of the workflow

  2. Select the products to be updated

Note: Only approved definitions can be subject to a Change workflow.

  3. Root Products (Products at the highest level of a BOM) impacted are automatically ideniified and added to the workflow

  4. Specify the owners of each tasks in the workflow

📑Fulfilling the workflow tasks

In the tab Tasks and Objects, owners can Complete or Refuse tasks (in the same way as a standard workflow)

🧑‍💻 Action in the Impact Matrix

In the Impact Matrix, users can carry out the same actions than during a Product Definition's update:

  • Adding/Removing "child" product in BOM:

  • Modifying quantities or comments in the BOM:

  • Adding Defintion documents to a product:

  • Modifying the revision index of the associated parts:

  • Updating the Definitions properties

The updated products in the Impact Matrix are signalized with the following button

NB : the selected products at the start of a workflow will automatically be marked as Updated

⚠️ Users must have Modifying rights on the products to update the impact Matrix

✅ Validating the Impact Matrix

Once the modifications are completed and verified, users can validate the Impact Matrix. The Product Definitions updated as part of the the workflow will be created and validated in Aletiq

⚠️ The User must have Full access rights on products to validate the Impact Matrix

🔎 Following change history

Change workflows that impacted the Product Definition are listed in the Article's workflow page.
