Once the eBOM of your products are defined, it enables some interesting actions to help you manage your product data :

  • Comparing one eBOM to another

  • Accessing the use case of a product's definition

  • Publishing the evolution of a product's definition into its use cases

Comparing eBOMs

Directly from the product tab, you have access to the eBOM comparison which allows to select two product definitions and automatically highlight the differences (different revison indexes, added or deleted components, modified quantities, etc.) :

💡This feature is also accessible from a specific product definitions page, to compare the actual revision index and a previous one

Finding the use cases of a product's definition

From the definition of a product, you can easily access to all the definitions that use it and display the "reverse BOMs".

You can also check if the definition is used in any manufacturing process :

Publishing a definition

After creating a new index of a definition of a product, Aletiq can help you to automatically publish this index in the products that uses this product's definition :

💡Key takeaways :

  • The publishing action will update all the of the products' definitions until the root product

  • If the actual indexes of the products are in draft status, after the publishing they are simply updated. If they are in approved/obsolete status, a new draft index is created
