Browsing and finding a component

Browsing the Aletiq parts is done using the search bar and filters, as in the web application interface:

Viewing or editing a component

  1. From the list of parts you can select the revision of the part you want to edit or view

  2. By clicking on View, the plugin will open the part in view mode, without creating a new revision in Aletiq. The Active part pane at the bottom of the window does not allow to save the part in Aletiq:

  3. By clicking on Edit, Aletiq opens the the selected revision if it is in draft status, or creates a new draft revision of the part if the selected revision was approved. The part is locked🔒 so that other users cannot edit it anymore

If it is an assembly it is possible to select the components to be modified. It is also possible to select which revision of the parts are going to be used in the assembly:

  4. By clicking on Insert, Aletiq allows you to insert existing components in the open assembly.

  5. The Update button changes the components' revisions in the assembly to the latest

  6. The active component pane lists all open parts, displays the last saving date of the part, and allows you to save your modifications before closing the part

Creating a new part

You can create a new part from scratch directly from the plugin with the "New part" button :

💡 You can also create a new part by duplicating an existing part in the Aletiq database

Importing a part from a local folder

When you open a part from your local drive that is not saved yet in Aletiq, the plugin detects it and proposes to save the part:
