๐ก To start a workflow, you must first select the template you wish to use as a basis.
Starting a workflow
You can start a workflow from several places in the application, but it will always trigger the same process.
1๏ธโฃ From the home page
You can [Add models] to save up to three models as favourites to start workflows more quickly; otherwise, click [+ Start a workflow with another model]. You can redefine these three favourites at any time.
2๏ธโฃ From the Aletiq module bar
3๏ธโฃ From the workflows home page
๐ก For these three use cases, and depending on the selected model, you will need to manually associate the corresponding object and always choose a revision with Draft status.
The most common way to start a workflow
This consists of starting a workflow from the Workflow tab in the detail panel of an object (documents / parts). The object is then automatically linked; you simply need to select the draft revision to be processed.
When configuring tasks before launching a workflow from a template, a yellow warning light ๐ง indicates items that require attention (e.g. missing mailing list or executor). Once these items have been completed, the workflow can be launched. ๐
Performing a workflow task assigned to me
When a workflow is in progress, the active task is visible to everyone in the object's detail pane by clicking on the indicator next to the revision status, while only the manager sees a banner at the top allowing them to perform the task directly from this screen. ๐
Cancelling/abandoning a workflow
If a task is rejected without a configured return point, the workflow is automatically abandoned/cancelled. It is therefore important to configure the template correctly beforehand.
Only the workflow manager (its creator) or a user with an Admin licence can cancel a workflow by providing a reason. Other users will be notified of the cancellation. ๐
๐จ Only the Admin licence allows you to delete a workflow, regardless of its status (in progress, cancelled, or completed).
