Set up and manage the Automatic Numbering

Learn to define Classes for your Object and use them to generate a Unique ID

Goal

💡 This feature enables the automatic attribution of an ID to your Objects. It consists of a customizable structure that includes the incrementation of a counter.

Define Classes for your Objects

To benefit from the Automatic Numbering feature, Objects must have a value in the "Class" property.

To define these values, follow the steps below:

  1. Access the Properties page, in the Administration tab,

  2. Select your Object and press Class

  3. Add the values of your choice.

💡The Class property can be renamed to your liking.

Create a new Numbering rule

All values defined above are subject to a Numbering rule. To create one, follow these steps:

  1. Access the Numbering page, in the Administration tab,

  2. Select your Object and press New Rule

  3. Follow the steps to define your Rule:

    1. Give it a name

    2. Select the class(es) concerned

    3. Create a custom ID structure with your selection of text, separator and counter

💡 Good to know !

  • The counter is automatically incremented and uses the first number available in the database

  • Object ID already loaded on Aletiq remain unchanged after a rule modification

  • If multiple rules apply to the same object, the ID will be generated according to the first in the list

  • Creates custom and unique ID,

  • Improves your data organization

  • Facilitates work processes through automation
