💡 The Aletiq Plug-in 1.2.0 for SolidWorks allows you to create CAD files from SolidWorks and save them directly in Aletiq . It also allows you to modify CAD managed in Aletiq by opening them in SolidWorks without having to download/upload a file.

⚠️ The plug-in is compatible with SolidWorks versions 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

To get the plugin

  • You can download the installation folder 📁 attached at the end of this article ⬇️.

  • It was probably shared with you via email following the demonstration of the plugin as part of the deployment on your site.

  • Alternatively, you can request one from the Aletiq representative at your design office.

  • Or contact us directly at [email protected] or via online chat.

Foreword: To help you read your SolidWorks BOMs properly

In Options > Performance, change the following settings:

  1. Tick Manually manage Resolved and Lightweight modes

  2. Check Always resolve sub-assemblies

  3. Set the Check for out-of-date lightweight components option to Always resolved

  4. Set the Resolve lightened components option to Always

Install the plug-in

  1. Download the executable here

  2. Unzip the archive containing the installation files with a right click

  3. Close SolidWorks if it is open

  4. Double click on the Setup file

  5. Enter your application's URL: you can open your Aletiq web application in a browser and copy/paste the URL that appears in the address bar (e.g. https://app.aletiq.com/home).

  6. Open SolidWorks, then the Aletiq plug-in panel

  7. Log in with your Aletiq credentials

  8. Check that the SolidWorks options match those specified at the top of this page.

  9. Empty the plug-in cache (recommended for correct operation!)
